The Biggest Freakin’ Mexican Restaurant Ever

by Brian

Hey everyone,

If you’ve been playing along at home, you already know Mikey’s boy Trent is a soccer star and recently discovered savant.  What you don’t know is that he went and did what every kid always does… he got sick.  That’s how it came to pass that the baton would fall to me to post this fine evening.  Lucky for me I skipped lunch.

Yolanda’s – On Los Angeles Ave. between First and Madera, Simi Valley

I’ve been wanting to go to this place for a long time, but just haven’t had the opportunity.  Well, that all changed tonight.  Since Yolanda’s is right on my way to the skating rink (yeah, i’m a nerd like that) I figured I just couldn’t pass it up.

The first thing I noticed was that this place was huge.  I know it looks tall from the photo I took, but that isn’t the half of it.  They have a decent sized bar, big patio and two huge banquet hall sized dining rooms.  I think the only place that’s bigger is Los Toros, but that’s because they just kept annexing territory in their own attempt at manifest mexican food destiny. Jackin’ the Rabbit and Gettin’ Stuft

by Brian

Saturday was a great day for EatMeCalifornia.  Not only did we get in yet another sweet pizza review, but we also made our first appearance on WordsCause, a blogtalk radio show hosted by one of our readers.  If you haven’t heard the show yet, here is the link to listen.  We pretty much take up the 8-30 minute section of the show, which proves once and for all that Mikey and I are really full of hot air.

Dean actually took the time to come hang out with us and help us eat our pie.  I’ve known him for a while now, but had no idea how talented he really was until he showed me the iphone game that he developed.  It’s called Jack The Rabbit and besides being fun, it’ll also give you gynormous forearms and put hair on your chest.  Oh, you’d like some video?  Here ya go:

Listen to us on Internet Radio Tomorrow!

by Brian

Hey everybody,

I’m gonna make this a short one because, well, because I can.  I’ve actually been holding this review in waiting, not wanting to bombard you with omelettes everyday.  Here’s some big news though.  Mikey and I will be guests on Words Cause, a live internet radio show Saturdays at 8am.  Since most of the degenerates that read this site will still be sleeping it off, I don’t expect many of you to call in, but if you want to listen live, call in or even listen to the show after it airs live, here is the link to Words Cause Radio.  Seriously, listen to us. Deadliest Catch and the King Crab

by Brian

So last night’s episode was a bit of a filler, but Mikey gave me such a hard time for breezing through the review last week that I feel like I owe you something half-way decent.  Here goes…

We left off last week with Capt. Keith of the Wizard having his 18 million ton boat come crashing down on his head whilst trying to fix the damn thing.  Honestly, isn’t this something you pay someone else to do?  It’s called delegating.  Learn it, use it, love it.  Continue reading

The only one in Golden China

by Mikey

Got some requests for more Chinese food so I hit up one of Ventura’s older places, right off of Seaward.  You can see it from the 101 and from what I hear they are more popular for their Karaoke nights then they are for the dining.  I’d actually been there before.  A few years back I hit up the bar with some friends and sang Enter Sandman, but I’d never had the food before.  Off we go to a very large Chinese Restaurant called Golden China. Fluffy Eggs at the 126 Café

by Mikey

I went for breakfast, this morning, to a place a couple of neighbors had told me about.  It’s a little, and I mean little, diner right off the 126 hwy called the 126 Café.  They said it had a lot of history and had been around for something like 40 years and that they had one of the best breakfasts in town. Deadliest Catch and the Deep Blue Sea

by Brian

Tonight, Mikey and I are premiering a new weekly column for the site.  With Hell’s Kitchen winding down (thank god) we are proactively filling the void with a show that’s actually worth watching: Deadliest Catch.  This weekly column will probably go up on Wednesdays, but because I was retarded and forgot to tivo the 1st episode, I had to wait until tonight to watch the rerun.  Each week, it is my hope that we can not only give a little commentary on the show, but also a review on the culinary bounty that is the ocean.  First the show, then the review… enjoy!
